Cape Ann Artisans Spring Tour!

Have you ever participated in the Bi-Annual Cape Ann Artisans Tour?   If not, you are in for a treat.  Consider it a “treasure hunt” for your favorite pieces of art around Cape Ann!  You can plan a day or a weekend to visit some or all of the 15 studios on the tour by following the brochure map and the fun signage – yes magenta signs all around Cape Ann helping you wayfind.  Each is tucked away in quiet neighborhoods that you might never see otherwise.   For these various times each year – Spring (June 4-5), Fall (Oct 8-9) and a few special tours, the artists open up their intimate work-spaces so that you can see both the process and the end product and bring home something very special – from jewelry to large scale paintings and everything in between.  Artists encompass many media including:  pottery, painting, photography, sculpture, mixed media, mosaics, weaving, sea glass and fine jewelry art.  More than half the CAA visitors come back year after year!  There’s always more to see and conversations to be had with the artisans.  Many offer custom work and classes.  As the oldest open studio tour in the country, the Cape Ann Artisans have set the standard for a warm and colorful welcome to both visitors and neighbors alike.  I am pleased to be a partner in this effort and hope you will join me in celebrating this fabulous opportunity to experience art making first hand.
